SPEAKER
Ron Townley is the Director of Local Government Services for Land of Sky Regional Council of Governments and has been with the organization for over 10 years Ron has more than a 20 years experience in both public and private sector project and personnel management based on a degree in business administration.
- His career has largely focused on environmentally based programs that are economically sound. This includes extensive expertise in the Brownfields industry.
- His work includes many successes in regional project conception, planning and implementation. He works to build public/private partnerships, develop markets, spur job creation, enhance communications and facilitate regional leaders.
- Ron has been partnering with EPA since the 1980s and has been recognized by EPA Region IV with an Environmental Merit Award in 2000. More recently, he created and stewarded the Region's Brownfields Initiative that has received national recognition and over seven EPA grants since 2002, ushering about 20 sites forward to redevelopment.
