John Edward (Ed) Murphy is the founder and owner of the Financial Management Institute (FMI), a management consulting firm specializing in procurement, grants, finance, public policy, forensic accounting, and litigation support. He established this firm in 1991 after completing a Federal career of more than 32 years. FMI's client service includes acquisition support service, expert witness and forensic accounting service, and "trouble shooting" client problems with Federal agencies.
- Ed has over 50 years experience in such diverse areas as financial management, acquisition, auditing, logistics, human resources development, and public policy. He's worked in the private sector for CPA firms; and in the public sector for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), the Naval Audit Service, and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
- Mr. Murphy is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), and a Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM).
