SPEAKER
Brenda Diederichs has an extensive and well versed background in addressing difficult labor relations matters, as well as creatively addressing human resources situations. She opened the law firm of DIEDERICHS & ELCONIN in November of 2006, which is dedicated to the practice of labor and employment law for both public and private employers.
- Brenda began her employment in the Personnel Department at San Bernardino where she has trained in every facet of human resources. She took this experience to the Southern California Rapid Transit District (RTD) in 1980 and while managing the Employment Division, and after two years she was promoted to Labor Relations Manager and negotiated labor agreements, heard disciplinary and termination appeal cases and advocated cases in arbitration.
- In 1990 she became the Human Resources Director for the City of West Covina while she attended Law School. Upon graduation she served as the Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Groups at two full service municipal law firms.
- She then returned to public service where she served as the Executive Officer for Labor and Employee Relations, Human Resources and Training and Development for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
